5. Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on your device. The Site uses:
-
Essential cookies that make the Site work (for example, your cart, checkout, login, and security)
-
Analytics cookies (such as Wix Analytics and, if enabled, Google Analytics) that help us understand traffic and improve the Site
-
Marketing or social cookies (such as the Meta/Instagram pixel or embedded social feeds), if enabled, that help measure our outreach
You can control cookies through the Site's cookie banner (where shown) and your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.
6. How Long We Keep Information
We keep information only as long as we need it:
-
Donation and order records: as long as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes (generally at least 7 years)
-
Scholarship applications: for as long as you are being considered or supported, and then up to 3 years so we can report on our programs. After that, we delete them or remove the information that identifies you. You may ask us to delete your application sooner (see Section 9).
-
Event registrations: up to 3 years after the event
-
Contact messages and mailing lists: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until they're no longer needed
-
SMS consent records: for as long as you're subscribed, plus the period required to show your consent
7. How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. The Site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and payments are handled by PCI-compliant processors. Access to scholarship applications is limited to the small number of team members and volunteers who review them, and they are expected to keep that information confidential. No system is perfectly secure, though, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we'll notify you as required by law.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian contact us before you submit an application, order, or registration. -
Opt out of texts by replying STOP
-
Give anonymously by asking us not to publish your name

Access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us. We may need to keep some records, such as donation records, to meet legal obligations.
-
Withdraw an application at any time
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under state law, such as the right to know what we've collected, to request deletion, or to opt out of targeted advertising. To make any request, email admin@thelastsave.com. We'll verify your identity before acting on it and respond within the time the law requires. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
